MINUTES

Representative Beard, Chair of the Transportation Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Vogel moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 21, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF387 (Kelly) Counties allowed to participate in driver's license reinstatement diversion pilot program, and diversion pilot program extended.

Representative Sanders moved that HF387 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Sanders renewed his motion that HF387 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF721 (Kiffmeyer) Disability parking provisions modified.

Representative Murray moved that HF721 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance.

Representative Murray moved the A11-0268 amendment.

Representative Murray moved to incorporate the A11-0268 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kiffmeyer presented HF721.

Diogo Reis, Minnesota State Council on Disabilities.

Representative Murray renewed his motion that HF721 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1105 (Kiel) Pickup truck provisions modified.

Representative Kiel moved that HF1105 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Kiel moved the H1105A1 amendment.

Representative Kiel moved to incorporate the H1105A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kiel renewed her motion that HF1105 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF186 (Urdahl) Driver's license expiration period extended while person is serving in active military service.

Representative Morrow moved that HF186 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Urdahl presented HF186.

Representative Morrow renewed his motion that HF186 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF537 (Urdahl) Speeding violation of ten miles per hour over the 60 mile per hour limit provided to not go on a driver's driving record.

Representative Vogel moved that HF537 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance.

HF554 (Johnson) Mississippi River Parkway Commission expiration date changed.

Representative Nelson moved that HF554 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections.

Representative Johnson presented HF554.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that HF554 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF724 (Anzelc) Route No. 332 removed from trunk highway system.
Representative Gauthier moved that HF724 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register.

HF587 (Beard) Dan Patch commuter rail line restrictions removed.

Representative Beard moved HF587.

Representative Beard presented HF587.

HF587 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation Policy Bill.
