Representative Poppe, Chair of Committee on Agriculture Policy, called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Petersburg moved approval of the minutes from Thursday, February 27, 2014. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Pat Lunemann, President, Minnesota Milk Producers Association, presented on the dairy industry in Minnesota.
David Ward, Dairy Director, Cooperative Network, presented on Minnesota dairy producers.
Representative Poppe moved to adopt the
A14-0806 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Lesch introduced HF84, as adopted, (Lesch) dog and cat breeder bill.
Thom Petersen, Minnesota Farmers Union testified in support of HF84 as amended.
Dr. John Baillie, Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association testified in support of HF84 as amended.
Bill Hartmann, Executive Director, Board of Animal Health, testified on HF84 as amended.
Belinda Donley, President, Minnesota Pet Breeders Association, testified on HF84 as amended.
Quinn Cheney testified on behalf of the Minnesota Pet Breeders Association.
Michelle Leba testified in support of HF84 as amended.
Reese Frederickson testified in support of HF84 as amended.

Representative Poppe moved to re-refer HF84, as amended, to the committee on Environment, Natural Resources and Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
