MINUTES

Representative Marquart, Chair of the Committee on Education Finance, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM, February 14, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The Perpich Center for Arts Education presented agency budget information. Testifiers included Sue Mackert, Executive Director, Pam Paulson, Senior Policy Director, Bari Amadio, Executive Committee and Past Chair, Board of Directors, and Mike Zabel, Administrative Management Director.

Representative Anzelc moved the minutes of February 13, 2013 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Minnesota State Academies presented agency budget information from Superintendent Brad Harper.

Members' questions and comments were addressed throughout the presentations.

Representative Newton moved HF457 (Fritz) A bill for an act relating to education finance; appropriating money to upgrade the kitchen at the Minnesota State Academies for the Deaf and Blind.

Public testimony on HF457 was provided by Minnesota State Academies Superintendent Brad Harper, Katy Roth, Student Nutrition Director, and Representative Patti Fritz.

CHAIR MARQUART LAID OVER HF457 FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN AN OMNIBUS EDUCATION FINANCE BILL.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:38 AM.
