MINUTES

Representative Marquart, Chair of the Committee on Education Finance, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM, April 3, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Myhra moved the minutes of April 2nd, 2013 be approved.

Representative Bernardy moved HF1643 (Bernardy) School district teacher evaluation activities funding formula created and money appropriated

Public testimony was provided by Tom Ames, Superintendent of Truman and Parker's Prairie School Districts; Sharon Kjellberg, teacher from Moundsview School District; Kirk Schneidawind, Minnesota School Board Association; Jan Alswager, Education Minnesota; Rose Hermodson, Assistant Commisioner of the Minnesota Department of Education; and John Christiansen, Superintendent of Intermediate School District 917.

Members' questions and comments were addressed throughout the bill presentation.

CHAIR MARQUART LAID OVER HF1643 FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN AN OMNIBUS EDUCATION FINANCE BILL.

Representative Selcer moved HF1385 (Selcer) Parent-child home program funding provided, and money appropriated.

Public testimony was provided by Mari Forbush from Jewish Family Children's Services and
Carolyn Smallwood from Way to Grow.

Members' questions and comments were addressed throughout the bill presentation.

CHAIR MARQUART LAID OVER HF1385 FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN AN OMNIBUS EDUCATION FINANCE BILL.
