Representative Marquart, Chair of the Committee on Education Finance, called the meeting to order at 8:17AM, February 27th, 2014 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson moved the minutes of February 26, 2013 be approved.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The Minnesota Department of Education provided an update on the 2013 omnibus E-12 education act provisions, student academic achievement, and federal education funding. Testifiers included Commissioner Dr. Brenda Cassellius; Director Melvin Carter, Office of Early Learning; Lisa Barnidge, Department of Education; and Deputy Commissioner Jessie Montano.

Members' questions and comments were addressed throughout the presentation.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:45AM.
