MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:04 A.M. on February 7th in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erikson moved that the minutes of January 31, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 171 (Ward) Repealing the requirement that teacher candidates pass a basic skills exam before receiving a teacher license

HF 34 (S. Erickson) Teacher licensure requirements modified

Representative S. Erikson moved HF 34

Representative S. Erikson moved the H0034A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Representative Mariani laid this bill over, as amended, for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or action at a later time.

The following people provided an information presentation on the effect of the Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examination on Minnesota's Teaching population:
