MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:05AM on March 19, 2013 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 1383 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee of Government Operations

Rep. Newton presented H.F. 1383 (Newton); Special Education case loads rask force established, individualized education program development governing rules modified, and special education service purchasing governing rules modified.

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 1383 be amended, (see amendment H1383A1) THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 1383, as amended, be amended, (see attached amendment H1383A2) THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

The following people offered testimony on H.F. 1383, as amended:

Rep. Davnie moved to amend H.F. 1383, as amended with the following oral amendment:

Page 1, Line 14, delete "maximum number", insert "appropriate number"

Rep. Mariani renewed the motion that H.F. 1383, as amended be passed and re-referred to the Committee of Government Operations THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 356 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance

Rep. Newton presented H.F. 356 (Newton); School districts allowed to use sage schools levy proceeds collaborating with mental health professionals and money appropriated.

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 356 be amended (see attached amendment H0356A2) THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Rep. Mariani renewed his motion that H.F. 356, as amended be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED

Rep. Mariani moved that H.F. 986 be laid over.

Rep. Newton presented H.F. 986 (Newton); School personnel notice and reporting requirement added.
