MINUTES

Representative Melissa Hortman, Chair of the Energy Policy Committee, called the thirty-first meeting to order at 12:41 P.M. on, March 24, 2014, in room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson explained HF2866

HF2866 (Erickson, R.) Legislative Energy Commission requested to investigate strategies to convert users of propane gas to natural gas or other fuels.


A quorum was present at 12:44 P.M.


Representative Hortman moved HF2866 before the Committee to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Energy bill.

Representative Hortman discussed the amendment H2866A1.

Representative Hortman renewed her motion that HF2866 before the Committee to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Energy bill.


Vice-Chair Representative Morgan assumed the chair at 12:49 P.M.


Representative Hortman moved HF2603 before the Committee.

HF2603 (Hortman) Weatherization assistance program money appropriated.

Testimony was given by:
Patrick McFarland, Executive Director, Anoka County CAP



Representative Hortman moved adoption of amendment H2603DE1.
The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hortman renewed her motion that HF2603 be re-referred as amended to the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection Policy and Finance.
The motion prevailed.


Representative Hortman moved HF2967 before the Committee.

HF2967 (Garofalo) Commerce Department utilities assessment amount amended; and incremental revenue allocated to develop and maintain a statewide uniform energy conservation reporting system for utilities.

The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hortman renewed her motion that HF2967 be re-referred as amended to the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection Policy and Finance.
The motion prevailed.


Representative Masin moved approval of the March 18, 2014 minutes.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
