MINUTES
Representative Wagenius, Chair of the Committee on Environment, Natural Resources, and Agriculture Finance, called the meeting to order at 8:15 a.m., Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Dave Schad, Deputy Commissioner - Department of Natural Resources, introduced himself for the record and was available to answer questions for the duration of the meeting.
Courtland Nelson, Director, Parks and Trails Division - Department of Natural Resources, introduced himself for the record and continued with the presentation and budget overview of DNR Parks and Trails.
Sheila Vanney, Assistant Director - Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, introduced herself for the record and announced to the Committee that members of the Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts were visiting the Capitol today.
Representative Bly moved approval of the committee meeting minutes for Feb 21st. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED
Ed Boggess, Director, Fish and Wildlife Division - Department of Natural Resources, introduced himself for the record and gave a presentation of the budget overview for the DNR Fish and Wildlife Division.
The meeting recessed at 9:46 a.m.
The meeting reconvened at 6:07 p.m., in the Basement hearing room of the State Office Building.
Ed Boggess, Director, Fish and Wildlife Division - DNR, continued his presentation and answered questions from the earlier portion of the meeting.
Vice-Chair Falk assumed the gavel at 7:33 p.m.
Colonel Jim Konrad, Enforcement Division Director - Department of Natural Resources, introduced himself for the record and gave a presentation on the budget overview of the DNR Enforcement Division.
Questions from members of the Committee were answered by the presenters over the course of the presentations.
Kristen Eide-Tollefson, Planning Commissioner for Florence Township, Goodhue County, introduced herself for the record and addressed the Committee on the issue of frac/silica sand mining in Southeastern Minnesota.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
