HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM on April 8, 2013, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Dorholt moved that the minutes of April 3, 2013, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
HF 983 was presented and discussed.
HF 983 (Lien) A bill for an act relating to higher education; making technical, conforming, policy, and clarifying changes to provisions related to higher education law; modifying provisions related to the higher education advisory council, student grants and aid, and school licensure and registration; modifying procedures related to terminating institutions from financial aid programs; modifying certain definitions; etc.
Chair Pelowski stated that parts of this bill would be incorporated into the Higher Education Omnibus bill as a policy component.
Tricia Grimes, Policy Analyst, Minnesota Office of Higher Education, testified on behalf of HF93 and explained Article 1, Policy and Technical Changes.
Emily Adriaens, House Fiscal Analyst, gave a brief review of the Higher Education Finance & Policy Committee spreadsheet.

Chair Pelowski stated that amendment
H1692DE1 was for committee members' review until the following week when the Higher Education Finance & Policy Committee would then begin the final mark-up of its Omnibus bill.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:02 PM.
