MINUTES

Representative Paymar, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, March 13th, 2014 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Savick moved that the minutes of the March 12, 2014 hearing be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 1870 (Holberg) Executive branch advisory groups governing provisions modified.

Rep. Kelly moved that H.F. 1870 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

Rep. Kelly moved to amend H.F. 1870 as follows: (see attached; coded H1870A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Kelly moved to amend H.F. 1870 as follows: (see attached; coded A14-0871). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Kelly renewed his motion that H.F. 1870, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Kelly assumed the chair at 10:18 a.m.

H.F. 2755 (Paymar) Corrections; outdated and redundant statutes amended and repealed.

Rep. Paymar moved that H.F. 2755 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations.

Testifying in favor of H.F. 2755 were:
Thomas Roy - Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Corrections
Terry Carlson – Deputy Commissioner, Facilities Division, Minnesota Department of Corrections

Rep. Paymar renewed his motion that H.F. 2755 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 3017 (Paymar) Outdated and redundant statutes amended and repealed.

Testifying in favor of H.F. 3017 was:
Mary Ellison – Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Public Safety

Rep. Paymar renewed his motion that H.F. 3017 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
