MINUTES

Representative Murphy, Chair of Committee on State Government Finance and Veterans Affairs, called the meeting to order at 12:50 February 20, 2013 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Members excused:

A quorum was present.

Chair Murphy announced that the agenda would go out of order to accommodate the testifiers.

HF143 (Persell) Minnesotan American Indian veteran plaque authorized for placement in the court of honor on the Capitol grounds.

Chair Murphy moved that HF143 be recommended to pass and be referred to the committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

Public Testimony was welcomed.

Erma Vizenor, Chairwoman of White Earth Band of Ojibwe and IAC Board Member. She honored those Veterans in the audience today.
Blake Johnson, lobbyist for Prairie Island Dakota Community. He is the son of Johnny Johnson, Chairman of the Prairie Island Dakota Community.
Kevin Leecy, Chair of Indian Affairs Council and Chairman of Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.
Paul Mandell, Planner at CAAPB.

Representative Persell renewed the motion that HF143 be recommended to pass and be referred to the committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Paul Erickson, Executive Director; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission.

Paul Erickson answered questions from the committee members.

Sue Gens, Executive Director; presented an overview and review of Governor's recommendations for Minnesota State Arts Board.

Sue Gens answered questions from the committee members.

Public Testimony was welcomed to speak on MN Amateur Sports Commission or Minnesota State Arts Board

Representative Dehn moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 13, 2013 and February 18, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Murphy announced that the next meeting would be on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 12:30 and would be continued into the evening.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:57 PM.
