Representative Sondra Erickson, Chair of the Education Innovation Policy Committee, began the meeting at 8:15 AM on February 26, 2015, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

A quorum was present at 8:16 AM and the meeting was called to order.
Representative Nels Pierson moved to approve the minutes of February 24, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Ron Kresha moved House File 859 for re-referral to the Committee on Education Finance.
Representative Kresha testified to House File 859 (A bill for an act relating to education finance; providing a grant to the Minnesota Council on Economic Education; appropriating money).
Martha Rush from Mounds View Public Schools testified in favor of House File 859.
Tim Bodin, an economist from Cargill, testified in favor of House File 859.
Susan Freivalds from the Minnesota Council on Economic Education introduced herself to take questions from members.
Chair Erickson renewed the Kresha motion and re-referred House File 859 to the Committee on Education Finance.
Representative Yvonne Selcer moved House File 724 for re-referral to the Committee on Education Finance.
Representative Selcer moved amendment H0724A1 to House File 724.
Dan Hoverman, the Superintendent from Mounds View Public Schools, testified to the H0724A1 amendment.
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Connie Bernardy testified to House File 724 (A bill for an act relating to education finance; providing full funding for the college concurrent enrollment program; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, sections 124D.091; 126C.20).

Chair Erickson testified to House File 1075 (A bill for an act relating to education; removing language excluding retired principals who serve as a substitute principal from continuing education requirements; amending Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 122A.14, subdivision 3).
