Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Innovation Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:17 AM on February 3, 2015, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

Representative Ron Kresha moved to approve the minutes of January 29, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Sondra Erickson moved House File 100 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
Representative Kim Norton testified on her bill, House File 100.
Representative Ron Kresha moved House File 466 for placement on the General Register.
Representative Ron Kresha moved his amendment to House File 466. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Valerie Dosland from the Minnesota Association of School Administrators testified in favor of local control.
Snezhana Bessonov from the Minnesota School Boards Association testified in favor of local control.
Tom Kavanaugh from Kavanaugh’s Resorts testified against starting school prior to Labor Day.
Jerry Hammer from the Minnesota State Fair testified against starting school prior to Labor Day.
Chair Sondra Erickson laid over House File 100 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
Chair Sondra Erickson withdrew the motion on House File 466 as amended and laid over House File 466 as amended for later action.
