MINUTES
Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Greater Minnesota Economic & Workforce Development Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:47 p.m. on March 19th, 2015, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Johnson, B. moved that the minutes of Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative O’Neill moved that HF551 (O‘Neill) be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.
Representative Dill moved the H0551A1 amendment.
Discussion followed on the H0551A1 amendment.
Representative Dill withdrew the H0551A1 amendment.
Representative O’Neill and Representative Isaacson presented HF551 (Competency standards for dual training identification required by commissioner of labor and industry, dual training competency grant program created, and money appropriated).
Testifying before committee were the following in favor of HF551:
Jessica Looman, Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry;
Kim Babine, Director of Government Affairs, Minnesota Department of Employment and
Economic Development;
Joe Mulford, System Director for Education and Industry Partnerships, Minnesota State
Colleges and Universities;
Mike McGee, Dean of Manufacturing, Hennepin Technical College;
Sarah Radosevich, Policy Research Analyst, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.
Representative O’Neill renewed the motion that HF551 pass, and be re-referred to the committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Gunther moved that HF1878 (Gunther) be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.
Chair Gunther presented HF1878 (Sustainable child care in rural Minnesota funding provided, and money appropriated).

Nancy Jost, Early Childhood Coordinator, West Central Initiative;
