MINUTES
Representative Steve Green, Vice Chair of the Greater Minnesota Economic & Workforce Development Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:48 p.m. on February 19th, 2015, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Fabian discussed HF434 (Explore Minnesota Tourism funding provided, and money appropriated).
A quorum was present at 12:51 p.m.
Representative Moran moved that the minutes of Tuesday, February 17, 2015 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chair Gunther moved that HF434 (Fabian) be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.
Representative Fabian presented HF434 (Explore Minnesota Tourism funding provided, and money appropriated).
Testifying before committee were the following in favor of HF434:
Mark Novotney, Past President, Congress of Minnesota Resorts, Owner of Hyde-A-Way Bay Resort in Hackensack;
Terry Mattson, Co-Chair, Minnesota Tourism Growth Coalition, President and CEO of Visit Saint Paul.
Chair Gunther renewed the motion that HF434 pass, and be re-referred to the committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Vice Chair Green assumed the gavel at 1:24 p.m.
Representative Mahoney moved that HF701 (Theis) be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.
Representative Theis presented HF701 (Boys and Girls Club provided grant funding, and money appropriated).

Vice Chair Green moved that HF593 (Kresha) be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the
Committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance.
Representative Kresha presented HF593 (Broadband development grant program provided funding, and money appropriated).

Representative Kresha moved the H0593A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Norton withdrew the H0593A3 amendment.
Representative Norton moved the H0593A4 amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL, THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.
Vice Chair Green renewed the motion that HF593 pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the committee on Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
