HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES REFORM COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Mack, Chair of the Health and Human Services Reform committee, called the meeting to order at 2:50 PM on January 21th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Mack called the meeting to order at 2:50 PM. A quorum was present.

Representative Baker moved that the minutes of January 20, 2015 be adopted. A motion to approve minutes was made. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mack moved that H.F. 191 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

Representative Mack moved the H191DE amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Mack moved the H191A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kresha presented H.F.191, as amended.

The following were available to testify on H.F. 191:

Mary Olson, Vicki Underland-Rosow, member of the Hennepin County Citizen’s Review Committee on Child Welfare; Vivian Jenkins Nelsen, Cathy Gillman, Suzanne Alliegro, Hank Marotske, Michelle Zehnder Fischer, Nicollet County Attorney, Member, Governor’s Task Force on Child Protection; Judith Brumfield, Director, Scott County Health and Human Services, Member, Governor’s Task Force on Child Protection, testifying on behalf of the MN Association of County Social Services Administrators (MACSSA); Rich Gehrman, Executive Director, Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota; DHS Commissioner Lucinda Jesson, Larene Broome, Parent Coordinator, Parent Mentor Program, William Mitchell College of Law; Member, Governor’s Task Force on Child Protection; Terese Amazi, Lisa Hollenstiner and Nancy Jost.

Representative Mack renewed her motion that H.F. 191 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the committee on Civil Law and Data Practices. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:37 PM.
