Representative Pat Garofalo, Chair of the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:45 P.M. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Garofalo called the meeting to order at 12:45 P.M. A quorum was present.
Representative Wagenius moved to approve the minutes from the previous hearing. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Jeff Daugherty, Director of Regulatory Affairs at CenterPoint Energy; Joni Zich, Director of System Strategy and Business Operations at Xcel Energy; Brett Anderson, President and CEO of Dick’s Sanitation; each gave an overview of natural gas issues in Minnesota.
Representative Loonan assumed the gavel at 12:57 P.M.
Chair, Representative Garofalo assumed the gavel at 1:15 P.M.
HF341 (Swedzinski) Requirement to obtain certificate of need prior to construction of a natural gas plant generating electricity that is exported from the state eliminated. The bill was laid over for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.
Benjamin Gerber, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce; Carol Overland; Elizabeth Wefel, Missouri River Energy Services; Rick Evans, Xcel Energy; Loren Laugtug, Otter Tail Power Company; Will Nissen, Fresh Energy; Alan Muller; all testified on HF341, as introduced.
