MINUTES

Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:16 A.M. on March 12, 2015 in Hearing Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Cornish called the meeting to order at 10:16 A.M. A quorum was present.

Representative O’Neill moved that the minutes from the March 11, 2015 meeting be approved.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 0372 (Nash): Notice of possession of firearms at the Capitol complex requirement amended.

Representative Cornish moved that HF 0372 be passed and referred to the general register.

Representative Cornish renewed his motion that HF 0372 be passed and referred to the general register.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1434 (Anderson): Suppressor possession and use prohibition repealed, chief law enforcement officers required to complete federal certifications relating to suppressors in a timely manner, and appeal process for denial of certification provided.

Representative Howe moved HF 1434 to be passed and referred to the general register.

Representative Considine motioned to table discussions on HF 1434.

Representative Cornish called for a recess at 12:05, until 4:15 P.M.

Representative Cornish reconvened the meeting at 4:22 P.M.

Representative Considine withdrew his motion to table discussions on HF 1434.

Representative Hilstrom moved to orally amend HF 1434 as follows:
Line 3.21 strike “or” insert “and”

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Howe renewed his motion to pass HF 1434, as amended, and refer to the general register.

Representative Johnson assumed the gavel at 5:10 P.M.

HF 0830 (Lucero): Federal Gun Control Act; firearm sale and purchase permitted in any state where lawful under the act.

Representative Lucero moved that HF 0830 be passed and referred to the general register.
