MINUTES
Representative Drazkowski, Chair of the Property Tax and Local Government Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 8:16 A.M. on January 28, 2015, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Drazkowski called the meeting to order at 8:16 A.M. A quorum was present.
Zora Radosevich and Jon Klockziem, Minnesota Department of Revenue, gave an overview of the assessment process.
Representative McDonald moved that the minutes of January 21, 2015 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Hertaus moved that the minutes of January 22, 2015 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Davnie moved that the minutes of January 24, 2015 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Les Ristinen, Wolf Lake Township, Becker County, testified regarding inconsistencies in assessing practices.
David Feldt, Township Supervisor, Wolf Lake Township, testified regarding the reassessment of Wolf Lake.
John Hagen, Director of the Property Tax Division, Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified to address Mr. Feldt’s concern.
Ron Frank, City Council, Lyle, testified regarding assessing practices of Minnesota in comparison to the assessing practices of Iowa.
Gary Orlich, Scandia, testified regarding forfeitures and the rising cost of assessed values in Scandia, Minnesota.
John Hagen, Director of the Property Tax Division, Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified to address Mr. Orlich’s concern.
Lynn Miller, Owatonna, Steele County, testified regarding the market value of tillable land.
Joe Lorsung, Callaway, testified regarding inconsistencies in assessing practices.
Dan Frentress, Park Rapids, Becker County, testified regarding inconsistencies in assessing practices.
Mark Peterson, County Assessor, Cass County, Legislative Chair, Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers, testified to address questions raised in previous testimony.
Stephen Baker, County Assessor, Ramsey County, Region 9 Mentor, Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers, testified regarding the sales ratio system and foreclosures.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 A.M.
