MINUTES
Representative Loon, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:04 P.M. on February 22nd, 2018 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Erickson moved that the minutes of February 13th, 2018 be adopted. THE MO-TION PREVAILED.
Nekey Oliver and Megan FitzGibbon, Minnesota Office of Higher Education, provided overviews of the following programs:
Alternative Teacher Preparation Grant Program
Student Teaching Grant Program
Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program
Adosh Unni, Minnesota Department of Education, provided an overview of the following pro-grams:
Grow Your Own Residency Programs
Agriculture Educator Grants
Teacher Governed School Grants
CTE Consortium Funding
Career Certification Incentive Revenue Program
Recovery Program Grants
Shelly Green, McKinley Recovery Schools, provided information for the committee on McKinley Recovery Program.
Josh Nelson, Manager of Education Services for Lakes Country Cooperative and Sam Walseth with Minnesota Service Corps provided an update on the Northwest Regional Partnership/Statewide Partnership.
HF2845, Loon Singing based pilot program to improve reading appropriation clarified.
Representative Loon moved that HF2845 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Loon renewed the motion that HF2845 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
