MINUTES
Representative Sondra Erickson, Chair of the Education Innovation Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM on February 2, 2017, in room 10 of the State Office Building.

Representative Erickson officially called the meeting to order at 8:16. A quorum was present.
Representative Bahr moved the minutes from January 31, 2017, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Presentations:
Troy Haugen, Career & Technical Educator Licensing Task Force Co-Chair and Lakes County Service Cooperative, gave an overview of recommendations from the Career & Technical Educator Licensing Task Force Report.
Stephen Jones, Career & Technical Educator Licensing Task Force Co-Chair & Superintendent Little Falls Community Schools, gave an overview of recommendations from the Career & Technical Educator Licensing Task Force Report.
Paula Palmer, Director of Career & College Success with the Minnesota Department of Education, provided context and overview of Career & Technical Educator Licensing Task Force Report.
Sarah Dornink, Executive Director of Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council, provided overview of programs related to agricultural education and services provided by the Agricultural Education Leadership Council.
Lindsey Brown, Agricultural Teacher Mountain Lake High School, shared her experience and insight in teaching agricultural and career education.
Joe Ramstad, Minnesota FFA State Sentinel, shared his experience in agricultural education and how the FFA program promotes leadership, personal growth, and career success.
Eric Melbye, Assistant Superintendent Bloomington High Schools, gave a presentation on how Bloomington Public High Schools is working to address career and college readiness.
Dr. David Heistad, talked about the metrics in place to track student progress and readiness.
Gary Kressin, Bloomington Career & College Academy, provided an overview of the organizational progress of the Bloomington Career & College Academy and their concurrent enrollment programs in place.
John Licciardi, Osseo High School STEM programs, advocated for STEM programs, and shared progress of STEM programs in regards to growth and overall academic success.
Sidney Arbogas, High School Senior Osseo Sr. High, gave a speech on the Project Lead the Way program, and her academic experience and journey as a female STEM student.
Jill Stewart-Kellar, Principal, Intermediate CTE Program 916 and Tech & Center, gave a power point presentation and overview on the Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center and the academic programs provided.
The meeting adjourned at 9:58 AM.
