MINUTES
Representative Sondra Erickson, Chair of the Education Innovation Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:14 AM on February 28, 2017, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A Quorum was present.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Max Ginsburg, Eden Prairie Public Schools, testified in opposition to HF1478.
Roberta Rasmussen, Teacher with Roseville Public Schools, testified in opposition to HF1478.
Daniel Sellers, Executive Director Ed Allies, testified in support of HF1478.
Denise Dittrich, Minnesota Schools Boards Association, testified in support of HF1478, and on the implications with Master Agreements due to bill language.
Gary Amoroso, Minnesota Association of School Administrators, testified in support of HF1478 and it will work in regards to district bargaining.
Jim Bartholomew, Minnesota Business Partnership, testified in support of HF1478.
Stacey Stout, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, testified in support of HF1478.
Scott Croonquist, Association of Metropolitan School Districts, testified in support of HF1478.
Roger Aronson, Elementary and Secondary Principles Association, testified with some concerns on the effective dates held in HF1478.
Khulia Pringle, Parent organizer and public school teacher, testified in support of HF1478.

HF547 (Fenton): Child and Adult Care Food Program administration by the Health Department provided.
Representative Bennett moved to re-refer HF547 to the Health and Human Services Reform Committee.
Representative Fenton introduced HF547.
Christine Twait, Executive Director of Partners in Nutrition, testified in support of HF547.
Ikram Mohamed, Sharing & Caring Childcare Center, testified in support of HF547.
Ellie Lucas, Hunger Impact Partners, testified neutrally on HF547.
Daron Korte, Assistant Commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Education, testified in opposition to HF547.

HF1398 (Jessup): General education development term modified.
Representative Jessup moved the H1398A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
