CONFERENCE COMMITTEE HF140 2017-2018
MINUTES

Representative Sondra Erickson, Chair of the Education Innovation Policy Committee and Co-Chair of the HF140 Conference Committee, unofficially called the meeting to order at 8:35 AM on May 1, 2017, in the Basement of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Presentation: House Non-Partisan and Senate Non-Partisan Research presented the side-by-side language of HF 140.

Representative Erickson officially called the meeting to order at 8:46AM. A quorum was present.

House and Senate Staff introductions.

Brenda Cassellius, Commissioner Minnesota Department of Education, provided overview of MDE’s position with the legislation.

Nels Onstad and Debby Odell, Minnesota Department of Education, provided overview of MDE’s position with the legislation.

Erin Doan, Executive Director of the Board of Teaching, provided overview of the Board of Teaching’s position with the legislation.

Matt Scherer, Legislative Director with the Minnesota Department of Administration, offered testimony in support of HF140.

The meeting adjourned at 10:18AM.
