MINUTES


Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 AM on March 7, 2017 in Room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Franke moved the minutes of the March 2, 2017 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF380 (Urdahl) Traffic violations around school bus fines increased.

Representative Cornish moved to re-refer HF380 to the Transportation Finance Committee.

Representative Cornish moved the following oral amendment: “on the original HF380 delete lines 1.16-1.19”. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Cornish moved to re-refer HF380, as amended, to the Transportation Finance Committee.

Representative Urdahl presented HF380, as amended.

Representative Cornish moved to re-refer HF1769, as amended, to the Taxes Committee.

Representative Slocum presented HF1769, as amended.

Representative Johnson moved to re-refer HF33 to the Government Operations Committee.

HF1572 (Grossell) Stays of adjudication and stays of imposition in criminal sexual conduct cases eliminated, sex offenders required to serve lifetime conditional release or probation, intensive probation for sex offenders established, child pornography penalties increased, mandatory minimum sentences created, and Sentencing Guidelines Commission directed to modify the sex offender grid.

Representative Grossell moved to lay over HF1572 for possible inclusion in the Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance Omnibus bill.

Representative Grossell presented HF1572.
