PROPERTY TAX AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Drazkowski, Chair of the Property Tax and Local Government Finance Committee, officially called the meeting to order at 8:17AM on March 21st, 2018 in room 10 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hertaus moved the minutes from March 14th, 2018 be approved. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF2826 (Sandstede) Proctor and Hibbing; property tax exemption provided.

Representative Carlson moved that HF2826 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Carlson renewed his motion that HF2826 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3814 (Nash) Taxing authority modified, and limit on excise taxes and fees expanded.

Representative Barr moved that HF3814 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative Barr moved the HF3814A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Barr renewed her motion that HF3814, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2254 (Petersburg) Senior citizens' property tax deferral modified, and reconsideration following denial provided.

Representative Loonan moved that HF2254 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Representative moved the HF2254DE10 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Loonan renewed his motion that HF2254, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1123 (Davnie) Homestead valuation exclusion increased for disabled veterans.

Representative Loeffler moved that HF1123 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
