MINUTES


Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:31 PM on January 15, 2019, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Education Policy Committee members and staff introduced themselves; members discussed their goals for the biennium.

Stephanie Graff, Director of Equity and Opportunity Minnesota Department of Education, and Greg Keith, Director of School Support Minnesota Department of Education, presented an overview of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and World’s Best Workforce.

Alex Luizzi, Executive Director Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB), gave an overview of PELSB and tiered licensure.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 PM.
