MINUTES
Representative Mikael Sundin, Chair of the Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:32 P.M. on January 16th, 2019, in Room 120 of the Minnesota State Capitol.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

The following members were excused:
No members were not present.
A quorum was present.
Representative Sundin, Chair, asked staff and members to make brief introductions.
Representative Sundin, Chair, asked all members to inform the Committee Administrator of any absences for future meetings of the Labor Policy Committee.
Ben Weeks, House Non-Partisan Research, informed members regarding his role and research services he offers.
The following people gave testimony regarding the structure, purview, funding and operations of the Department of Labor and Industry:
-Kristin Batson, Acting Commissioner of Dept. Labor and Industry,
-Chris Leifeld, Deputy Commissioner, Worker’s Compensation Division
-Heather McGannon, Assistant Commissioner, General Supports Division
- Scott McLellan, Assistant Commissioner, Construction Codes and Licensing, Labor Standards and Apprenticeship
The meeting was adjourned at 3:12 P.M.
