MINUTES

Representative Jean Wagenius, Chair of the Energy and Climate Finance & Policy Division, called the first meeting to order at 9:46 A.M. on, February 7, 2019, in room 120 of the Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll. A quorum was present.

Representative Bierman moved adoption of the February 5, 2019 minutes.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Ellen Anderson, Executive Director of the Energy Transition Lab, introduced the presentation on energy storage to the committee.

Brian Burandt, Vice President of Connexus Energy, presented to the committee on their solar plus storage project.

Beth Soholt, Executive Director of Clean Grid Alliance, presented to the committee on Clean Grid Alliance’s work related to energy storage.

Dan Foley CEO and Founder of GlidePath Power, presented to the committee on the issues and processes involved with completing energy storage projects.

Dr. Cecilia Martinez, Executive Director of Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy, presented to the committee on issues of social and environmental justice related to energy equity.

Jamez Staples, President of Renewable Energy Partners, presented to the committee on the importance of low-income communities and people of color being included in the implementation of renewable energy and emerging energy storage technologies.

Dr. Rolf T. Weberg, Executive Director of Natural Resources Research Institute (NRRI) at the University of Minnesota Duluth, presented on their work and research at NRRI related to energy storage.

The meeting adjourned at 11:15 P.M.
