MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 12:48 P.M. on February 13th, 2020, in room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson moved to approve the minutes for the April 4th, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Johnson moved to approve the minutes for the May 13th, 2019 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Edelson moved to approve the minutes for the February 11th, 2020 meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

HF571 (Mariani) – Misdemeanor certification clarified.

Chair Mariani presented on HF571.

Chair Mariani moved to re-refer HF571 to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2013 (Dehn) Marijuana offenses thresholds adjusted, and penalties provided.

Representative Dehn presented on HF2013.

Representative Dehn moved to amend HF2013 with the DE2 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Dehn moved to re-refer HF2013, as amended, to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 301 (Stephenson) - A bill for an act relating to public safety; amending certain burglary.

Representative Mariani moved to amend HF301 with the DE2 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Mariani moved to re-refer HF301, as amended, to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Johnson requested a roll call.

HF 689 (Long) Probation length for certain offenses modified, and court-granted early termination and discharge of probation clarified.

Representative Johnson moved to amend HF1273 with the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
