MINUTES

Representative Moran, Co-Chair of the Select Committee on Racial Justice, called the remote meeting to order at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020, pursuant to House rule 10.01.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Moran called the meeting at 1:00pm. A quorum was present.

William H. Dietz, MD, PhD, Chair, Sumner M. Redstone Global Center for Prevention and Wellness, Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University testified and presented on the topic of “Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Racism” for the committee.

Wendy R. Ellis DrPH, MPH, Assistant Professor, Global Health; Director, Center for Community Resilience, Sumner Redstone Global Center for Prevention & Wellness, Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University testified and presented on the topic of “Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Racism” for the committee.

Linsey McMurrin, Director of Prevention Initiatives & Tribal Projects, Family Wise Services - Prevent Child Abuse MN; Certified ACE Interface Master Trainer testified and presented on the topic of “Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Racism” for the committee.

Rep. Moran opened the committee for Member discussion.

No official action was taken.



The meeting was adjourned at 3:01pm.
