MINUTES
Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30am on February 15, 2022 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcasted via Zoom and House Public Information Services.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Rep. Sandstede moved that the minutes from February 10, 2022 be approved. Motion prevailed.
HF 378 (Rep. Youakim) Paraprofessional paid orientation required, paraprofessional training funding provided.
Rep. Youakim moved that HF 378 be presented before the committee; be laid over for possible consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.
Rep. Davnie moved that the A22-0305 author’s amendment to HF 378 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.
Rep. Youakim presented HF 378, as amended.
Rep. Youakim renewed the motion that HF 378, as amended, be laid over for possible consideration and possible inclusion in a future omnibus bill.
HF 2133 (Rep. Olsen) Employee health insurance provided, non-licensed school personnel minimum starting salary increased, paid orientation and professional development for paraprofessionals provided.
Rep. Marquart moved that HF 2133 be presented before the committee; be laid over for further consideration at a later time.
Rep. Marquart moved that the A22-0295 amendment to HF 2133 be presented to and adopted by the committee. A voice vote was taken. Motion prevailed; the amendment was adopted.
Rep. Olsen presented HF 2133, as amended.
Rep. Marquart renewed the motion that HF 2133, as amended, be laid over for further consideration at a later time.
Presentation relating to the current supply and demand in the Special Education Licensure areas, as well as a preview on some of the teachers of color and indigenous teachers statistics.
