LOCAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION MINUTES

Representative Sandra Masin, Chair of the Division on Local Government, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:31 AM on February 17, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll:

Vice Chair Elkins moved that the minutes of February 10, 2021 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Elkins assumed the gavel at 8:34 AM.

Chair Masin moved that HF 344 be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance and Elections.

Chair Masin presented HF 344, a bill on the Metropolitan Council; staggered terms provided, nomination committee membership expanded, additional information required to be made publicly available during selection process, and council member qualifications clarified.

Chair Masin moved the H0344A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

• Scott Schulte, Anoka County Commissioner

Chair Masin renewed the motion that HF 344 as amended be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance and Elections.
