FINANCE & POLICY MINUTES

Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Committee on Industrial Education and Economic Development Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 8:30 AM on February 17, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and broadcast via House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Sandell moved that the minutes of February 10, 2021, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Joseph Brown, Superintendent of Fairmont Area Schools, presented on the Fairmont Vocational Academy.

Presentation on the Stride Career Prep Program at Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA).

Testifying:
• Krin Abraham, Superintendent, Houston Public Schools
• Leslie Lewandowski, Career Readiness Education Program Coordinator, Minnesota Virtual Academy

Jason George, Business Manager of Operating Engineers Local 49, presented on the Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Readiness Pathway at Minnesota Virtual Academy (MNVA).

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 AM.
