PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 10:31 AM on March 12th, 2021 pursuant to House Rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 1378 be referred to the General Register.

Representative Becker-Finn presented HF 1378, a bill for an act relating to public safety; modifying requirements for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe to exercise concurrent state law enforcement jurisdictional authority; amending Minnesota Statutes 2020, section 626.93, by adding a subdivision.

Representative Lucero presented HF 464, a bill for an act relating to public safety; establishing a duty for peace officers to report excessive force incidents to the chief law enforcement officer; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 626.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 464, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
