Agriculture Finance & Policy Committee Minutes

Representative Samantha Vang, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM on March 12, 2024, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Pursell moved to approve the minutes from March 7, 2024. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4659 (Berg) Safety standards for broadband industry installers required; and Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program implemented.

Chair Vang moved that HF4659 be recommended to pass and moved to the Committee on Climate and Energy Finance and Policy.

Representative Berg presented HF4659.

Chair Vang moved the H4659A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF3410 (Freiberg) Classification of commercial dog and cat breeder data collected and maintained by Board of Animal Health amended; kennel and dealer advertising requirements modified; and Board of Animal Health required to post kennel, dealer, and commercial breeder information.

Chair Vang moved that HF3410 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law.

Chair Vang moved the H3410A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Freiberg presented HF3410 as amended.

HF4655 (Vang) Bird hatching banned in schools.

Chair Vang moved that HF4655 be laid over for possible inclusion in an Agriculture Omnibus bill.

Chair Vang moved the H4655DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Vang presented HF4655 as amended.
