FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES

Representative Rick Hansen, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on March 12, 2024, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Lee moved to approve the minutes from March 6, 2024, with a technical correction. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3651 (Kozlowski); Chippewa Bands authorized to establish open seasons for big game in accordance with 1854 treaty, and prior appropriation modified.

Chair Hansen moved that HF3651 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee omnibus bill.

Chair Hansen moved to adopt the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Kozlowski presented HF3651, as amended.

HF3783 (Kozlowski); Tax-forfeited land that includes land within boundary of Indian reservation required to be offered to affected bands before being offered for sale to other parties.

Chair Hansen moved that HF3783 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee omnibus bill.

HF4365 (Daniels); French Lake water quality grant availability extended.

Representative Heintzeman moved that HF4365 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Daniels presented HF4365.
