Representative Liebling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:32 A.M. on March 14, 2023 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Bierman moved that the minutes of March 7, 2023 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1700 (Feist) Keeping Nurses at the Bedside Act of 2023; hospital nurse staffing committee and hospital nurse workload committee requirements established, hospital core staffing plan requirements modified, commissioner of health required to grade and publicly disclose hospital compliance with core staffing plans, requirements related to hospital preparedness and incident response action plans to acts of violence modified, eligibility for nursing facility employee scholarships modified, hospital nursing education loan forgiveness program established, eligibility for health professional education loan forgiveness program modified, commissioner of health required to study hospital staffing, grant program established to improve mental health of health care workers, report required, and money appropriated.

Chair Liebling moved that HF1700 be re-referred to the Committee on Labor and Industry Finance and Policy.

Chair Liebling moved the H1700A4 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Feist presented her bill as amended.

Representative Smith moved that HF1883 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.

Representative Smith moved the H1883A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Smith presented his bill as amended.

HF2077 (Bierman) Medical assistance required to cover seizure detection devices.

Representative Bierman moved that HF2077 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Health Finance and Policy Committee bill.
