HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on March 12th, 2024, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 4343 (Coulter) Requirements related to higher education institution contracts with online program management companies imposed.

Representative Pelowski brought HF 4343 before the committee.

Representative Coulter moved the H4343DE1 amendment to HF 4343. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Coulter presented HF 4343 as amended on an informational basis.

The committee concluded discussion on HF 4343 as amended and the bill was kept in possession of the committee.

Representative Pelowski moved that the minutes from March 7th, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1630 (Pelowski) One-third user financing requirement eliminated for future capital improvement projects at public postsecondary institutions.

Representative Pelowski brought HF 1630 before the committee.

Representative Pelowski moved the H1630DE1 amendment to HF 1630. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Pelowski presented HF 1630 as amended on an informational basis.

The committee concluded discussion on HF 1630 and the bill was kept in possession of the committee.

HF 4175 (Pelowski) Workforce development scholarships program eligibility expanded.

Representative Pelowski brought HF 4175 before the committee.

Representative Pelowski moved that HF 4175 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Pelowski renewed his motion that HF 4175 be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:19 AM.
