HOUSING FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES

Representative Michael Howard, Chair of the Committee on Housing Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. on February 21, 2024, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Lead Johnson moved that the minutes of February 20, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3845 (Agbaje) Landlord and tenant provisions clarified, and service of summons and complaint modified.

Vice Chair Agbaje moved HF3845 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Vice Chair Agbaje moved the HF3845A1 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Agbaje presented HF3845 as amended.

Chair Howard renewed the motion that HF3845 as amended, be referred to Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3810 (Moller) Landlord prohibited from initiating an eviction action against a tenant who terminates a lease based on status as a crime victim, and expungements of eviction records modified.

Chair Howard moved HF3810 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Howard moved the HF3810A1 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Moller presented HF3810 as amended.

Representative Pérez-Vega moved that HF2704 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Representative Pérez-Vega moved the HF2704A3 amendment to be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pérez-Vega presented HF2704 as amended.
