HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Mohamud Noor, Chair of the Committee on Human Services Finance, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM on March 16, 2023 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Bahner moved that the minutes of March 14, 2023, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1384 (Hicks); Notice of medical assistance program required for employed persons with disabilities, and medical assistance eligibility requirements modified for employed persons with disabilities.

Representative Hicks moved that HF 1384 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Hicks presented HF 1384.

HF 1436 (Vang); Programs to address health and human services workforce shortage expanded and established, reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Noor moved that HF 1436 be re-referred to the Health Finance and Policy Committee.

HF 1172 (Edelson); Health and human services background study consideration of juvenile court records modified, disqualification periods modified, set aside allowed for disqualification based on conduct or convictions in individual's juvenile record, electronic background check reconsideration request process created, and money appropriated.

Chair Noor moved that HF 1172 be laid over possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Chair Noor moved the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Edelson presented HF 1172 as amended.

Representative Baker moved that HF 2544 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Baker moved the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Baker presented HF 2544 as amended.

Chair Noor moved that HF 1845 be laid over in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.
