JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Cedrick Frazier, Vice Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the meeting to order at 12:59 P.M. on April 29, 2024, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Curran moved that the minutes of April 18, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 5381 (Youakim) Department of Education Office of the Inspector General authority expanded.

Vice Chair Frazier moved that HF 5381 be recommended to be re-referred to the Education Finance Committee.

Vice Chair Frazier moved the H5381A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Youakim presented HF 5381 as amended.

HF 5363 (Frazier) Minnesota Paid Leave Law; paid leave provisions modified.

Vice Chair Frazier moved that HF 5363 be recommended to be re-referred to the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee.

Vice Chair Frazier presented HF 5363.

Testifying on HF 5363:
• Evan Rowe, Deputy Commissioner of Workforce Services and Transformation, Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development

Vice Chair Frazier renewed the motion that HF 5363 be recommended to be re-referred to the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
