JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on, February 2, 2023, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Finke moved that the minutes of January 31, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 36 (Greenman) Worker safety requirements established, and money appropriated.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 36 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H0036A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Greenman offered an oral amendment to HF 36 as amended.
• Page 4, line 10, delete “injury” and insert “the violation”
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Representative Greenman presented HF 36 as amended.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 70 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H0070A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hansen presented HF 70 as amended.

HF 17 (Stephenson) Excessive price increases by manufacturers to generic or off-patent drugs prohibited, attorney general authorized to take action against manufacturers for price increases, withdrawal prohibited of generic or off-patent drug sales, prescription drug affordability board and prescription drug affordability advisory council established, prescription drug cost reviews and remedies provided, appointments provided, civil penalties imposed, report required, and money appropriated.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 17 be re-referred to the State and Local Government Finance and Policy Committee.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H0017A6 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Stephenson presented HF 17 as amended.
