EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on February 9, 2023, in Room 120 of the Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistance noted the roll.

Representative Pursell moved that the February 8, 2023, minutes, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pryor moved that the February 8th, 2023, minutes from the Joint meeting with Children & Families Finance Committee, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1082 Education finance; career and technical revenue increased and money appropriated.

Representative Sencer- Mura moved HF 1082 before the committee.

Representative Sencer-Mura presented HF1082.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 1082 be laid over for future consideration in the Education Finance Committee omnibus bill.
HF 795 (Youakim) Extended time revenue expanded to all students placed at residential treatment facilities providing mental health or juvenile justice services.
Representative Pryor assumed the gavel.
Chair Youakim moved HF 795 before the committee.
Chair Youakim moved the DE 1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDEMENT WAS ADPOTED.
Chair Youakim presented HF 795 as amended.

Representative Pryor moved that HF 794 as amended be laid over for future consideration in the Education Finance Committee omnibus bill.
HF 105 (Olson B.) Use of extended time extended to pupils enrolled in career and technical education courses.
Representative Kresha moved HF 105 before the committee.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 105 be laid over for future inclusion in the Education Finance Committee omnibus bill.
