LABOR AND INDUSTRY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

Representative Michael Nelson, Chair of the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM on January 19, 2023 in Room 10 of the State Office Building. It was broadcast via House Public Information Services.

A quorum was present.

HF70 (Hansen); Agricultural and food processing worker fair labor standard provisions modified.

Chair Nelson moved that HF 70 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Representative Hansen presented HF 70.

The following testified on HF 19 as amended:
• Bernie Hesse, Director of special projects, legislative, and political action, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) 1189
• Jessica Grosz, Director of Labor Standards and Apprenticeship, Department of Labor and Industry

Chair Nelson renewed the motion that HF 70 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Mekeland moved to approve the minutes from January 17, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
