PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on, March 26th, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Engen moved the minutes of March 22nd, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3761 (Finke) Safety through Support Act established, visitation rights of incarcerated persons expanded, diversity task force established to approve licensed professionals to access incarcerated persons.

Chair Moller moved that HF3761 be laid over.

Representative Finke presented HF3761.

HF 4959 (Pinto) Task Force on Holistic and Effective Responses to Illicit Drug Use established, report required, and money appropriated.

Representative Pinto moved that HF4959 be re-referred to the Committee on State and Local Government Finance and Policy.

Representative Pinto moved the HF4959A1 Amendment.

Lead Novotny moved the HF4959A2 Amendment to the HF4959A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.

Representative Pinto renewed the motion for the HF4959A1 Amendment as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT IS ADOPTED.

Representative Pinto presented HF4959 as amended.
