PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES


Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on March 28, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Pinto moved that the minutes from March 23, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2890 (Moller) Judiciary, public safety, corrections, human rights, firearm, and 911 Emergency Communication System statutory policy provisions amended; reports provided; rulemaking authorized; various judiciary, public safety, and corrections entities funding provided; and money appropriated.

Chair Moller clarified that the committee will not be taking any official action on HF 2890 but will be hearing an overview of the H2890DE1 amendment and the fiscal spreadsheet.

House Staff presented an overview of the H2890DE1 amendment and the fiscal spreadsheet.

NOTE: A DE amendment and spreadsheet to HF 2890 (Moller) will be posted. The DE amendment (Public Safety Finance and Policy Omnibus bill) will be presented and public testimony will be taken on the DE amendment on March 28th. No formal action will be taken on the DE amendment on 3/28.
