TRANSPORTATION FINANCE AND POLICY MINUTES

Representative Frank Hornstein, Chair of the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on February 20, 2024, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Murphy moved that the minutes of February 15, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3437 (Klevorn) Plymouth; Michael Gau Memorial Bridge on U.S. Highway 169 over Hennepin County State-Aid Highway 9 designated.

Chair Hornstein moved that HF 3437 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Klevorn presented HF 3437.

Chair Hornstein renewed the motion that HF 3437 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3071 (Tabke) Plain Language Driver’s Manual and Written Examination Working Group created, report required, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Tabke moved that HF 3071 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Vice Chair Tabke moved to adopt the H3071DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Tabke presented HF 3071 as amended.

Vice Chair Tabke renewed the motion that HF 3071 as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3467 (Koegel) Commissioner of transportation authorized to convey property for and promote the use of passenger rail services.

Representative Koegel moved that HF 3467 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Koegel moved to adopt the H3467A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Koegel presented HF 3467 as amended.

Testifying on the bill:

Representative Koegel renewed the motion that HF 3467 as amended, be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
