WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 12:02P.M. on, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Edelson moved that the minutes of April 15, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF601 (Her) Lost and stolen firearms required to be reported promptly to law enforcement.

Chair Olson moved that HF 601 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the A5 amendment to HF 601.

Representative Her presented the A5 amendment to HF 601.

Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the A5 amendment to HF 601. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Her presented HF 601 as amended.

Representative Garofalo requested a roll call.

HF4300 (Becker-Finn) Firearm safe storage standards established and criminal penalties provided for failing to meet those standards.

Representative Becker-Finn moved that HF 4300 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Becker-Finn moved the DE3 amendment to HF 4300.

Representative Becker-Finn moved the A6 amendment to the DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Becker-Finn presented the DE3 amendment as amended.

Representative Becker-Finn renewed the motion to adopt the DE3 amendment, as amended, to HF 4300. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

HF4124 (Lillie) Outdoor heritage, clean water, parks and trails, and arts and cultural heritage funds money appropriated; and prior appropriations modified and extended.

Representative Pfarr moved HF 4124 before the committee.

Representative Lillie moved the A2 amendment to HF 4124. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lillie presented HF 4124 as amended.

Representative Pfarr laid over HF 4124 as amended.

Chair Olson assumed the gavel at 1:18 P.M.

HF4194 (Howard) Housing; prior appropriations modified, new programs established and existing programs modified, housing infrastructure bond eligible uses expanded, housing infrastructure bond issuance authorized, working group and task force established, reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Olson moved HF 4194 before the committee.

Representative Garofalo moved the A13 amendment to HF 4194.

Representative Garofalo withdrew the A13 amendment to HF 4194.

Representative Howard presented HF 4194.

Chair Olson laid over HF 4194.
