MINUTES

Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM, on ¬¬¬¬February 26, 2025, in Room G3 of the Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Burkel moved the minutes of February 24, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The following individuals presented on the state of the poultry industry:
Ashley Kohls, Executive Director, Minnesota Turkey Growers Association
Erica, Sawatzke, Poultry Farmer, Kensington, MN, Board of Animal Health President

Dr. Brian Hoefs, Executive Director, Board of Animal Health, presented an update on the status of livestock and poultry disease and presented the Board of Animal Health Budget.

Representative Harder assumed the gavel at 1:50 PM.

HF979 (Anderson) Board of Animal Health Funding provided and money appropriated

Chair Anderson moved HF979 before the committee.

The following individuals testified on HF979:
Hunter Pederson, Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation
Stu Lourey, Minnesota Farmers Union

Representative Hansen moved to adopt the A1 Amendment and requested a roll call vote.

Chair Anderson moved HF979 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1101 (Anderson) Money transferred to the Ag Emergency Account

Chair Anderson moved HF1101 before the committee.

Representative Hansen moved to adopt the A-1 Amendment and requested a roll call vote.

HF601 (Burkel) Depredation compensation funding provided and money appropriated

Representative Burkel moved HF601 before the committee.

Representative Burkel moved HF271 before the committee.

Chair Anderson laid HF271 over.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:44 PM.
